Warehouse Operator II - New Century, KS
NATURE OF WORK
Responsibilities consist of shipping, receiving and general warehouse maintenance. Responsible for filling and preparing customer orders and accounting for inventory on hand.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY
This position requires the knowledge of all safety considerations when handling products, including exposure to hazardous materials training. In addition, Warehouse Person requires exercise of good judgment, caution and knowledge of safety procedures when operating a fork truck and packing equipment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
- Apply knowledge pertaining to the chemical/physical characteristics of all inbound materials, to plan and direct all receiving, storage and transfer activities.
- Utilize computer system capabilities to plan for customer orders, pull appropriate reports and pick lists and support customer specifications.
- Using our automated inventory management system, ensure that all physical movement and transfer of raw materials, packaging and finished goods is accurately documented and computer processed.
- Applying forklift driving abilities, verify count, quantity, appearance and accuracy of labeling of all product through the distribution process. Includes applying loading techniques that will ensure load stability during the shipping process.
- Apply understanding of our automated cycle count system to perform periodic counts.
- Apply understanding of company safety and sanitation policies to support Operations goals.
- Other functions as required (non-essential functions).
- Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001 and Food Safety, with an understanding of Danisco’s Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures. Responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position’s jurisdiction.
Job Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
To successfully perform the requirements of this position, the incumbent must have a high school or equivalent education. In addition, the incumbent must have good organizational and math skills and be able to work independently. Also requires ability to follow verbal and/or written procedures/directions accurately. The ability to operate a fork truck is required. Previous warehousing experience of six months is preferred. Previous exposure to computerized warehousing operations, Word, Excel, data entry and/or computer input experience would be extremely helpful.
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Warehouse Person reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and takes direction for work activity form the Distribution Coordinator and has no supervisory responsibilities. The incumbent makes limited decisions regarding own work. This position requires some discretion, but majority of activities are covered by specific guidelines. A typical problem solving activity would be to determine and ensure the proper preparation of pallets for storage or shipping.
Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position operates in a warehouse environment and storage facility 100 percent of the time and requires continual lifting of items weighing 50 pounds or more. Environmental conditions include exposure to hand and mechanical tools and machinery.

- Timely supply of Materials/Packages to all departments.
- Timely and accurate information update to automated inventory management system.
- Accurate receipt and inventory of supplies and products.
- Clean and safe warehouse facility or trailer areas.
