Warehouse Operations And Safety Manager

**The starting salary for this exempt position is $60,000 annually**

Summary/Primary Purpose:  Ensures efficient Warehouse Operations to ensure consistent day-to-day Operations and established goals are met. This role is responsible to ensure the work environments in the warehouse and Thrift Stores meets Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA), State and Company guideline, as it applies to the facility, equipment and the training of employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Plan, develop, or implement warehouse and Thrift Store safety and security programs and activities.
2. Oversight and management of all product donation pick-ups and store delivery.
3. Responsible for the management, inventory and purchasing of supplies needed for warehouse production.
4. Inspect physical conditions of warehouse, thrift stores, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
5. Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
6. Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, or government regulations.
7. Assists leadership in creating and managing Warehouse Operations budget.
8. Maintains records for OSHA and TSA audits for warehouse and thrift stores buildings, equipment and employee documentation training or safety records.
9. Partners with IP/ORTS leadership to evaluate contractors and negotiate cost regarding rag and bulk sales by working with venders to ensure efficiencies and profits.23
10. Ensure daily inspection of warehouse facility and equipment is conducted and properly documented.
11. Monitor inventories of products or materials needed to maintain operations.
12. Monitor organizational compliance with regulations.
13. Oversees the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing.
14. Responsible for training warehouse and thrift store employees on applicable equipment and ensures that personnel stay current in required certifications.
15. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
16. Driving will be a requirement of this role.
17. All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:   Warehouse personnel

Education and Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent required or Associate degree preferred. Must have at least 5 years of related experience, preference will be given for current OSHA certification, lock out/tag and certified forklift operator and trainer

Qualifications:  The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

1. Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously, setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
2. Moderate skills working with databases, and ability to utilize Microsoft programs, along with the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
3. Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, attention to detail and filing.
4. Thorough understanding of applicable OSHA, federal, state, local, and company safety policies to include lock out/tag out.
5. Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
6. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  10-hour OSHA safety training, and certified forklift operator and trainer or become certified within 40 days of employment.

Physical Requirements:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Physical requirements include good speaking, hearing and vision ability and excellent manual dexterity. Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment.  May need to climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.  This position will require the ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. This position also requires color vision.

Working Conditions:  The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.  This position works in a warehouse environment, near moving mechanical parts and the environment may be dusty and experience temperature fluctuations based on weather.  The noise level is moderate in a warehouse setting.
