About the Role

We are recruiting for an Operations Manager to have operational oversight at the Syracuse, NY Branch.

What You'll Do:

  • Interview, hire, terminate, and prepare written reviews
  • Audit and standardize all system processes and procedures
  • Streamline administrative functions for Customer Service, Warehouse, and Sales
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Oversee Fiscal accountability and Monthly/Year End Closings
  • Inventory Control/Cycle Count
  • Oversee Branch Claims:
    • Freight
    • Insurance
    • Workers Compensation
  • Manage financial reports:
    • Unbilled Tickets
    • Cycle Count Adjustments
    • Open Sales & Purchase Orders
    • Non-stock and Unavailable
      Inventory Management
    • Returns: OERMS/PORMS
    • Warehouse Transfer Exceptions
    • Order Entry Exceptions (OEIX)
  • Oversee branch personnel including billing, customer service, warehouse, inventory control, and sales
  • Coordinating all deliveries.
  • Working with CDC/Dispatch on most efficient routing – including midnight truck
  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Review all daily branch activities
  • Training and development of branch personnel
  • Payroll
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Branch Replenishment
  • Petty Cash, Employee Sales, Credit Card, Cash, and COD account reconciliation, OEROB (cash balancing report)
  • Resolving branch disputes with Corporate Accounting:
    • Accounts Payable, Accounts
      Receivable, Invoice Processing
  • Trouble Shooting/Problem Solving
  • Record Retention:
    • Receipts, Packing Slips, Billing, OEROB, Manifests
  • Attend bi-weekly Operations Meetings


What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience required: Sales, operations, warehousing, or finance
  • 4 year college degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution industry and competitors in assigned territories and of supply chain management principles.
  • Knowledge of Company pricing policies and objectives and marketing strategies for various markets served
  • Knowledge of the impact pricing decisions have on the profit and loss of the Company
  • Knowledge of the Company's Sales, Operations, Financial, and Human Resources processes
  • Knowledge of various suppliers and their respective product lines
  • Working knowledge of the Company's computer systems and related applications and reporting methods
  • Business planning and market analysis skills
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word)
  • Ability to effectively supervise staff and achieve results through others
