Shipping and Receiving Lead - 2nd Shift
As the Shipping and Receiving Lead you will lead the shipping and receiving area, ensuring proper receipt of material, on-time, quality shipments to our customers, and deliver inventory accuracy. To be successful in this role you must be detail oriented to review job tickets and customer requirements, ensuring shipments will meet the customer’s quality and on-time demands. In this role you will also communicate well with others to ensure effective coordination and delegation of daily tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support the packaging and processing of products for shipment to customers, utilizing company computer systems to identify customer specified shipment requirements.
- Utilize carrier shipping systems (ie. UPS and FedEx) to set up and track shipments.
- Follow the daily schedule, ensuring that all jobs have been shipped out or picked up. Notify the Production Manager or Customer Service of any issues.
- Coordinate with customer service or other company personnel as necessary to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Support/contribute to/attend daily scheduling meetings (as necessary).
- Actively participate in continuous improvement teams and uphold the company’s Quality Management processes.
- Participate in daily or weekly inventory functions as required.
- Provide back-up delivery driver services, as needed.
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- HS (GED) required
- At least (1) one year of similar work experience
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable clean motor vehicle record (MVR) preferred for emergency driving abilities.

- Must be able to write and communicate in English.
- Experience with Microsoft office and ability to learn company computer system.
- Experience with or ability to learn shipping company systems (ie. FedEx, UPS, LTL carriers).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Training Requirements:
- Willing to attend required training courses or sessions related to the job as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting 25 pounds routinely, 50 pounds occasionally.
- Sitting, standing, crouching, repetitive tasks
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and subject to random drug screening.
Work Environment:
- Regular exposure to dust and noise in the production environment.
- Warehouse environment temperatures may be influenced by outside temperatures.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety shoes and eyewear are highly recommended in the warehouse and shipping areas.
