Job description

Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Drywall Estimator with a minimum of 4 years of direct working for a drywall company to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of drywall construction processes, materials, and labor requirements. The primary responsibility of the Drywall Estimator will be to accurately estimate project costs, analyze blueprints, conduct on-site evaluations, and collaborate with project managers and clients to deliver comprehensive and competitive bids.

Drywall Estimator Key Responsibilities:


  1. Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately estimate materials, labor, and equipment required for drywall installations.
  2. Conduct on-site evaluations to assess project scope, conditions, and potential challenges.
  3. Collaborate with project managers, architects, contractors, and clients to clarify project requirements and specifications.
  4. Utilize estimating software and tools to generate detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  5. Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, including itemized breakdowns of costs, timelines, and project deliverables.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive pricing.
  7. Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and other project documents as needed.
  8. Provide ongoing support to project teams by addressing inquiries, clarifying specifications, and resolving issues related to cost estimation.
  9. Monitor project progress and budgetary performance to identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
  10. Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to source materials and subcontractors at competitive prices.
  11. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as required.
  12. Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documents for future reference and analysis.

Drywall Estimator Qualifications:


  1. Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Drywall Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on drywall installations.
  3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately quantify materials, labor, and equipment requirements.
  5. Extensive knowledge of drywall construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  6. Experience using construction estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff).
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
  8. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing accurate and thorough cost estimates.
  9. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to review and negotiate contracts and change orders.
  11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
  12. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
