Job Description
Position Summary
The Yard Jockey will oversee the organization and product movement between warehouses. This position will help support the production team by counting, staging, and transferring product needs.
Schedule: 1st shift, either Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday. The final schedule will be determined during the hiring process based on business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Transfer 53 ft trailers between warehouses as needed.
- Prepare and stage production ingredients to be transferred.
- Assist in coordinating the organization of warehouse storage and FIFO processes.
- Co-ordinate daily/weekly with the Production team on production needs
- Shuttle equipment to/from Penske for maintenance/repairs
- Ensure that inbound frozen and finished goods products are securely wrapped, prepared to ship, coordinated with quality assurance procedures, and documented appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness of food-grade warehouse environment.
- Perform regular forklift operations.
- Performs inspections of vehicles after use and at the end of each shift.
- Maintain yard cleanliness.
- Occasional backup shifts for local CDL drivers.
- Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines when in the plant.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Job Qualifications
Experience:
- 2+ Years warehouse experience, preferred 2+ years forklift experience
- Valid Class A CDL commercial vehicle operator’s license.
- A total of 9 months of Class A CDL experience within the last 24 months, with six months being consecutive.
- No at-fault accidents in commercial vehicles in the past five years.
- Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
- CPG industry experience is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a DOT medical exam and DOT drug test
Knowledge: Truck driver experience and forklift experience. Microsoft Office (excel, word, etc.) experience and basic functions of a smartphone (company phone issued)
Language Skills: Ability to communicate, read, listen, and understand English. Bilingual a plus
Other Abilities: Ability to work well under time constraints and prioritize work to meet commitments/deadlines. Ability to work cross-functional with other departments.
Working and Environmental Conditions
- Freezer and refrigerated working environment.
- Outdoors working environment
- Requires night driving.
- Use of Forklifts and pallet Jacks.
Physical Demands
- Sitting/standing for extended periods.
- Light computer use.
- The job may include pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying between 20-50 lbs
- Requires sitting for extended periods.

Compensation
$22 - $25/HR DOE
