Position Overview: We are currently seeking four dedicated Warehouse Associates to join our team in Chicago, IL. This full-time role is essential for the smooth operation of our warehouse activities, ensuring efficiency and safety in handling various tasks from receiving to shipping. Work Shift (days per week, start/end time, and any OT): 5 days a week 7am - 3:30pm. OT required during the week and some Saturdays as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently load and unload trucks, ensuring timely processing of goods.
- Accurately receive, store, and manage inventory, maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Execute picking, packing, and shipping of orders with precision.
- Conduct thorough inspections of inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring quality and accuracy.
- Proactively identify and address damaged or defective products, reporting concerns to management.
- Operate and maintain a variety of material handling equipment, adhering to safety standards.
- Participate in regular maintenance and urgent repairs of warehouse machinery and tools.
- Support warehouse organization and cleanliness, following 5S and EH&S protocols.
- Engage in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of forklift experience, with proficiency in both sit-down and stand-up models.
- Preferred: Forklift Certification.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving is advantageous.
- Familiarity with high-reach trucks is desirable for efficient product selection.
- Strong commitment to teamwork, cooperation, and fostering a respectful work environment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks with attention to detail and time efficiency.
Working Conditions:
- This role requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various climate conditions.
- Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 70 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Steel toe boots are mandatory for safety compliance.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with overtime as needed during weekdays and some Saturdays.
Compensation:
- Starting pay range: $18.00 per hour, with potential for growth.
