Job Description
Assist in all shipping functions in office and on dock area.
Overall Responsibilities:
• Create all related paperwork for shipments for domestic and international
• Contact carriers for pickup of orders.
• Maintain a filing system for all shipping paperwork
• Generate paperwork for carriers.
• Complete all shipping transactions in SAP
• Process packages on Federal Express, UPS and DHL machines
• Use carrier specific web sites to schedule pickups, obtain information and create paperwork.
• Load carriers as needed using a fork lift, walkie-rider or hand jack
• Coordinate carriers and loading with the dock Team Lead
• Investigate and respond to any inquiries as needed
• Monitor and adhere to customer requests and vendor specific shipping requirements
• General safety requirements
Job Requirements:
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills and team orientated
• Forklift certified
• Knowledge SAP systems
• Experience with carrier shipping systems – UPS, DHL, and FEDEX
• Strong organizational skills
• Fluent on the internet and in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of the documentation of shipments
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
• Must be able to lift/push./pull up to 70 lbs.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods of time
• Excellent vision and depth perception
• Work on dock when help is needed
• Office / Warehouse Dock Environment
• Occasional exposure to weather
• Moderate to Loud noise level
