The Role
Newl is looking to hire a part-time Warehouse Associate (with the expectation of full-time hours within 6 months). Warehouse Associates are key members of our warehouse team. They contribute to an accurate and seamless operational flow between incoming & outgoing shipments in the warehouse. The Warehouse Associates are responsible for loading and unloading shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment, e.g. lift truck, forklift, etc. This includes receiving pallets and creating shipping orders in the Newl’s warehouse management system. Other responsibilities include the inspection of incoming shipments to verify contents and quality and may be required to assist in the scheduling of freight appointments.

Job Duties
- Receive orders in the warehouse management system to accept the incoming products.
- Match product with purchase orders and communicate any discrepencies on a timely basis.
- Follow putaway process by scanning inventory into appropriate locations
- Inspect product to ensure no visible damage.
- Operate a Forklift and Reach truck in a safe manner to move the received product.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- May be required to assist with scheduling freight appointments.
- Lift cases of product and/or stock merchandise according to documented procedures.
- Assisting with offloading floor loaded 20’ and 40’ containers.
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
- Oversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries. This includes creating shipping orders in the warehouse management system.
- Using an RF scanner for receiving goods, putting away pallets, and shipping goods.
- Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required.
- Manage inventory in the warehouse management system.
- Sort and distribute incoming shipments.
- Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off.
- Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
- Follow current standards and procedures.
- Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete.
- Problem solves for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries.
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist with white glove delivery services on an “as-needed” basis.
Requirements
- High school diploma or post-secondary.
- Forklift and reach truck certification.
- Working experience in the Shipping and Receiving role preferred.
- Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting.
- Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipments.
- Ability to weigh and measure items.
- Working knowledge of safe lifting methods.
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail.
- Previous experience using a warehouse management system.
- Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.
- Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs may be required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
