SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Perform assigned labor work required to handle, truck and store raw materials, merchandise, and supplies, between receiving and shipping docks in warehouse, manufacturing or processing areas. Load and unload trucks. Weigh, count and mark materials as directed. Use hand and power trucks to transport materials. Prepare, organize, and ship the daily shipments and justify and receive all incoming products, by performing the following duties.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Examine contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
- Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Drive company vehicles for emergencies and Kanban.
- Required to run pick tickets.
- Pull product from storage and prepare for shipment.
- Deliver or route materials to departments using work devices, such as hand trucks, conveyors, or sorting bins.
- Pack, seal, and label to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools and power tools.
- Confer and correspond with internal customers to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications.
- Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Stack cartons on skids, stretch wrap skids, and identify contents.
- Use scan gun to scan in/out product from inventory.
- Load/unload trucks.
- Deliver UPS and other parcels internally.
- Enter the appropriate inventory transaction into ERP system.
- Stage raw material.
- Support cycle counting process and variance explanation and resolution.
- Participate in month end and year end physical inventory.
- Work to accomplish company inventory accuracy goals.
- Keep warehouse organized, clean, and in good condition per 5S initiatives.
- Follow safety rules such as proper lifting techniques and using equipment safely.
- Licensed in forklift driving (sit down, stand up, scissors lift, aisle master).
- Clean up as needed and at the end of the shift.
- Training new employees on proper procedures and techniques.
- Must be available to be on an on-call basis on weekends.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as part of a team.
- Serve on special project teams (Kaizen, 5S etc.).

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

- High School Diploma or GED plus one to three months’ related experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
- Certified forklift training (sit-down and stand-up)
- Knowledge of production processes, machines and tools, scales used to do weigh counting, Plex or similar ERP system, and scanner gun systems.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to count, verify, and key on hand quantities into the ERP system (Plex).
- Ability to navigate the shipping and receiving module in the ERP system (Plex).
- Ability to adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions required, being able to quickly respond as needed.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds.
