Job Title: Warehouse Assistant Manager

The ideal candidate for this position must be able to oversee and coordinate the daily warehousing activities. Work activities include organizing and maintaining inventory and storage area while achieving a high level of customer satisfaction through excellence customer service. Monitor inventory and maintain items record to document necessary information. Help recognize areas of improvement for work and safety procedures and practices.
Duties will include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to input and investigate data, and a proven ability to help direct and coordinate daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on commitment to getting the job done, possess knowledge of warehouse operations and maintain strong organizational and time management skills. Previous experience in warehouse management is a plus.
Work activities include assisting customers in loading materials when presented with a work order, unload material upon return, and assist with the unloading of delivery and vendor vehicles when necessary. He or she will advise customers and other staff on the availability of supplies and materials requested, and will occasionally compare inventory against physical counts of stock and check differences. The candidate must maintain and organize all sales and delivery paperwork daily, and deliver it to his or her supervisor at the end of each work day.
Physical demands require he or she to be physically fit and able to lift 10-80 lbs. comfortably on a regular basis, and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis; be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator with a professional and pleasant attitude to be able to give a positive customer service experience. He or she will also inspect forklifts daily for anything problematic (low tire pressure, tire wear, dents, etc.), report any abnormalities, and refuel vehicles as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent certification, have previous experience working in a warehouse environment (supervisory experience is a plus), and have reliable transportation to get to work. Also, previous experience operating hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts is a plus (or at least be trainable at driving a forklift). Bilingual (Spanish) is also a plus.
Salary for this position will be based on a candidate’s experience, education, and qualifications. Employment will be dependent on the successful completion on a satisfactory MVR, extensive background check, and pre-employment drug test.
