Ministry Function
The Warehouse Assistant supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by handling product in the warehouse and making safety a top priority in all situations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists in receiving product, unloading trucks, and placing product into inventory.
- Properly handles outbound product, including staging loads and loading trucks.
- Oversees proper organization of the warehouse facility, including operating forklifts and various equipment for warehouse operations.
- Maintains an exceptional level of sanitation throughout the warehouse and facilities, including warehouse equipment, the parking lot, and trash disposal.
- Assists with weekly Hands of Hope volunteer events.
- Follows both general and equipment-specific safety rules.
- Uses appropriate safety protection equipment and other safety devices.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Forklift certification and prior forklift experience is required.
- A current Missouri driver's license is required.
- Demonstrates the ability to use a computer for basic data entry. Experience using Warehouse Management Systems is preferred.
- Can safely operate all warehouse equipment and routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
- Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
- As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that each team member embraces the organization's religious purposes for which it exists, and not only agrees with its Statement of Faith but demonstrates it in their lives on an ongoing basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may supervise volunteers, as needed.
