Warehouse Assistant

Job Summary

Be a part of a community building nonprofit organization that works to keep items out of the landfill and support those in need. The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for pulling, packing, and shipping items that have been sold on our eBay store. They will be responsible for pulling the correct items from inventory and packing items securely after the online sale for fulfillment. Must be able to demonstrate a record of honesty, integrity, an ability to interact well with others, a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.

Essential Functions

Functions include, but are not limited to:

● Pulling correct items from inventory to prepare for shipping

● Packing items in the correct box or bag with enough material to keep that specific item safe during shipping and transport

● Shipping sold items through various service providers such as USPS, UPS, etc.

● Rate shopping to find the cheapest, most efficient shipping method

● Verifying items on the shelf match what our system says with all items unbroken and accounted for

● Assist with local drop offs or pick ups of larger items around the community

● Follow safety guidelines

● Work as part of a team

● Follow written and verbal instructions, attend meetings, and perform other tasks as directed by supervisors

● Keep work area safe, clean, and organized at all times

● Assist in other areas of the company when needed

Qualifications

● Reliable with a good, punctual attendance record

● Ability to learn quickly, including shipping processes and Swedemom proprietary software

● Strong computer skills

● Ability to measure products accurately

● Good verbal and written communication skills in English

● Good time management and organizational skills necessary

● Experience in production or warehousing a plus

• Experience driving a box truck is a plus

● Experience of online sales a plus (ie: eBay, Etsy, Poshmark)

• Previous management experience a plus
• Excellent customer service skills

Typical Physical Activity

● Physical Demands/Requirements consist of standing, sitting, walking, stooping, grasping, pushing, pulling, moving loaded carts weighing up to 150lbs, reading, speaking, hearing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Typical Environmental Conditions

● Production areas are typical of an office/warehouse facility which includes variations in temperature, sound, odors, humidity, lint and dust.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
