  • Organization Location: Position is located in Washington, DC offices with the possibility of remote work as needed. TheInteractive Media Associate Consultant is part of the Global Corporate Solutions Department, Interactive Media Services and reports to the Sr. Program Manager.
  • General Description: The VR/AR Interactive Media Associate supports activities related to showcase VR and AR projects at World Bank Events and meetings, focusing on knowledge sharing and client engagement. The position also requires the adaptation of finished media, and has opportunities for research of interactive technology and participating in production of projects.
  • World Bank uses Immersive Mixed Reality experiences to enhance communications efforts, support field operations and decision making across its organization. Stakeholders are virtually transported to areas of focus to connect with issues affecting people living in poverty and engage.The World Bank VR team coordinates and creates experiences that ranges from 360 photo tours, VR films, CGI/3D virtual experiences, Web VR projects, VR activations, Augmented Reality pieces and other digital products and related services. The Interactive Media Associate Consultant works in a team to perform a range of duties involved in VR/AR outreach events, preparing media for distribution via headsets and hardware, client engagement and research of interactive technology.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Support VR and AR activations at Events and client meetings to showcase World Bank projects and their impact.
  • Interact with clients and users as needed and contribute to team related business development efforts.
  • Work directly with devices to upload or download content, hardware maintenance, equipment management and general support when needed.
  • Collaborate with the management of the AR/VR Lab equipment and installations, ensuring devices have the proper content and inventory is kept up to date.
  • Support camera and headset lending program by training WBG staff on the use of equipment and best practices., inventory management and other related tasks.
  • Travel as needed to be part of World Bank Events and production activities related to the Interactive Media program.
  • Support Metaverse/Social VR program by planning and user engagement in the designated platforms chosen for particular Events and actively participate online as support team during activities.
  • Contribute to planning stages and client meetings related to upcoming events to create action plan, event requirements and establish roles for the success of engagement activities.
  • Collaborate across other Interactive Media units to support GCS wide program particularly in areas of video production, photography and cartography.
  • Research new ways to expand Interactive Media unit by testing software and hardware and creating pilot projects.

Essential Specialized Skills/Knowledge/Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in areas related to Interactive Media, computing sciences, fine arts, gaming, and related technology.
  • Experience with VR interfaces and headsets.
  • Client engagement skills and exposure to large scale event planning.
  • Demonstrate fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and file management.

Terms of contract and time allocation

The position is offered as a World Bank Short-Term Consultant (STC) or Temporary (STT) for a maximum of 150 days per year. Relocation benefits are not offered for this position. Specific time allocation will be discussed with the selected candidate with flexibility to work part time or specific days of the week.
