Responsibilities
Purpose of Role: The Vice President for Health System Revenue Operations provides strategic leadership in Revenue Cycle operations and drives results across the end-to-end Revenue Cycle from scheduling through resolution of patient liabilities. This position is responsible for the overall system-wide management responsibility of Health System revenue, including program planning, revenue generation, operational analysis, financial analysis, problem resolution, personnel management, and performance improvement.
Areas of direct reporting include Revenue Cycle training, customer service, pre-access, authorization, billing, follow up, cash posting, and vendor management. Areas of collaboration and indirect reporting include patient access, scheduling, coding, payor enrollment, payor contracting, and system analysts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business or closely related field required.
  • Master's Degree Preferred.

Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle management required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • A thorough knowledge of health care revenue generation and reimbursement principles for hospitals, long-term care facilities and physician practices including applicable governmental regulatory and other payor requirements including managed care practices and policies.
  • Substantial analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms are required.
  • Must possess the ability to manage complex projects requiring judgement to identify and analyze problems.
  • EPIC experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the Revenue Cycle operations of our healthcare system.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize all facets of Revenue Cycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze Revenue Cycle performance metrics.
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with physicians and operational leaders (SBU/DYAD partners) throughout the health system to ensure seamless integration of Revenue Cycle processes.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to the organization in Revenue Cycle functions and processes.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and deliver high-quality services through continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for Health System revenue, including compliance, missed opportunities, and areas of improvement to ensure proper recovery of reimbursement for services.
  • Develop short- and long-term operational strategies in partnership with other leaders and provide the leadership necessary for design, improvement, and execution.
  • Responsible for Revenue Cycle operational and financial analysis.
  • Leads people toward meeting the organization's vision, mission, and goals.

  • Uses financial information to monitor overall financial status of operations including monitoring, reporting, and managing to defined key performance indicators.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
