Strategic role of Food & Nutrition business in North America is the growth engine market for the Food & Nutrition segment. The role assumes acceleration of organic growth driven by leading in household penetration, building and expanding category leadership with the customers, driving innovation with our brands, and growing in omnichannel and white spaces.

In addition, North America plays the key role in the inorganic growth strategy. Our region is leading the growth of the global segment through M&A of the insurgent businesses, such as Tasty Bite and Kevin’s Natural Foods.

In the role of VP P&O Food & Nutrition NA, reporting to the Regional President for North America, you will be a key member of the Food & Nutrition NA Regional Leadership Team (FMT) owning the People Agenda: Talent, Culture, Organization and Associate Experience strategies and acting as P&O business and thought partner to the Regional President and the NA Food Management Team.

You will also work closely with Global P&O VP for Food and your Global Food P&O colleagues to shape the Global People agenda for the segment as well as with other NA Segments P&O VP’s to drive agenda specific for the NA region. That will include leading global workstreams on behalf of the team.

The organization you will be leading and supporting consists of: (NA Food & Nutrition market organization; Food Plant in Greenville, Mississippi; Bolton Food Plant in Canada; Mars Symbioscience; Tasty Bite (not integrated to Mars Food & Nutrition) as well as working closely with Global Food P&O VP to support existing and future acquisitions.

Business Leadership:

  • Food & Nutrition NA: Partner with the Regional President and the Food NA Leadership Team (FMT) to set up the organization for success and future growth. You will provide business partnership via making sure that people agenda: culture, talent and organization is aligned with the business strategy, most specifically via building required strategic capabilities in the organization to support our long-term Value Creation Plan. Partner with Regional President on Food NALT high performance team development.

  • Tasty Bite: act as strategic thought partner to leverage the people agenda to drive growth.

  • Factories: In partnership with the Global Supply P&O BP and the site directors, support the people agenda and specific Interventions to ensure the goals of productivity, safety and quality aligned with the Five Principles.

  • MSS (Cocoavia): Partners with the MSS Business Lead In the people agenda to deliver the accelerated growth and profitability goals.

  • Talent & Organizational Health – Leading best in class talent attraction, development while driving associate engagement. Understand the ‘pulse’ of the business to strengthen the health of the organization and ensure “fit for purpose” organization design with the right people in the right roles.

  • Unit Effectiveness – Drive efficiency across the P&O operating model by facilitating the adoption of Mars signature programs, offering strategic guidance to unit specific projects, providing P&O Business Partner support to all functions and partnering with global stakeholders.

  • Enabling Operations – Maintain a strong relationship with the MyP&O team to ensure all functions of the P&O model enable the business; this includes Talent Acquisition, Associate Relations, Rewards, MyP&O, etc.

  • Leads assigned P&O workstreams on behalf of the globe to drive the P&O strategy.

Skills and Experience required:

  • 12+ years of progressive P&O experience, including 7-8 years in a leadership position, North America experience preferred,

  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships with senior leaders and managers in order to gain support and achieve strategic business goals,

  • Advanced consulting skills and ability to influence decisions to a positive business outcome,

  • Comprehensive experience in development and implementation of strategic initiatives through to execution while acting as an associate champion and change agent,

  • Ability to effectively manage change and work with ambiguity, prioritizing business needs and resources,

  • Solid knowledge of global and local policies and practices and understand their application in solving business needs.
