Hill & Knowlton has an immediate need for a Vice President to serve as Corporate Affairs leader on U.S. accounts across sectors, including in travel, consumer goods and technology. A strong bias for action, proficiency in management toward key performance indicators, experience leading accounts day-to-day and managing corporate storytelling media campaigns are integral to this role.
This individual will both lead account teams and work with account teams on corporate communications strategies implemented through both day-to-day and longer-lead projects. In this role, you will be expected to lead the strategic planning and implementation of Corporate Affairs campaigns as well as the development of key deliverables. You will be more than just advising your H+K teams and clients; you must be comfortable being involved in the day to day and executing the work. You must be capable of providing executives and senior managers unique insights and problem-solving guidance while still working closely with your team to develop and implement campaigns. You must be able to maintain best-in-class client service, overseeing all aspects of the work.
This role requires fast decision-making, ability to prioritize, and the expectation that you maintain a thorough understanding of how clients fit into the media landscape.
The position is a hybrid role, ideally based in New York, Washington, DC, or Miami.
What you'll be doing:
  • Providing strategic senior leadership and counsel, generating fresh, smart ideas and leading consumer brand campaigns.
  • Day-to-day account leadership, managing teams, timelines, budgets and client demands
  • Crafting thoughtful points of view and recommendations based on a broad understanding of consumer behavior, media relations and client landscapes.
  • Developing client messaging and developing compelling brand narratives to share across channels.
  • Driving growth by identifying opportunities to sell in additional services and programs.
  • Directly managing and mentoring a collaborative team of smart and enthusiastic communications professionals; ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Providing account oversight with a client-obsessed mindset and commitment to quality work that exceeds expectations.
  • Developing written materials, including reports, press releases, presentations, analyses, coverage recaps, and general client correspondence.
  • Developing/consulting on earned media strategies, media lists, organizational partnerships, editorial calendars, conferences, and awards.

What you'll need:
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related major
  • 12+ years of PR experience, agency and in-house preferred
  • Account leadership experience at an agency preferred
  • Experience with stakeholder-oriented corporate communications strategies and campaigns
  • Strong communications skills including in written and developed materials, such as integrated communication plans, press releases, pitches, and social media content
  • Strong writing, media, and research skills, social media experience
  • Results-focused approach and willingness to go the extra mile for clients
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Highly detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $100,000 to $230,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
