Job Description:
A full-time, benefited position in a growing, hands on Vocational Training / Employment Training program! Will provide hands-on, on the job training and counseling to assist persons with disabilities in developing a career and independence. Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include evenings and weekends. Evening Shift to fill -typical work hours are Monday through Friday; 3pm - 10 pm 7.5 hours per day.
Direct Service:
- Work alongside clients at work sites to provide hands on training and ensure the work is completed to the job site’s/ volunteer site’s satisfaction and to provide the highest quality service.
- Check client work and production performance and retrain client/ crews as needed.
- Assist the client in identifying vocational strengths, skills.
- Ensure that crew member’s goals are measurable and applicable to work/training being performed.
- Coordinate with client and other team members and conduct client’s Individual Service Plan (ISP) meetings held semi-annually, annually.
- Assist clients in identifying needs for accommodations, adaptive equipment, or assistive technology that increases client’s ability to increase productivity/vocational independence.
- Provide vocational training through crew work, production work, community volunteer work, prevocational activities or downtime training to clients either internally or externally.
- Prepare and distribute a monthly calendar of instructional training, volunteer opportunities and available community activities.
- Complete all required documentation and mandatory Easter Seals/Cal-OSHA/worksite trainings with crew members annually or as needed.
- · Transport clients to work sites and maintain vehicle paperwork to the agency standard.
Education and/or Experience
- Supervisory Experience
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is recommended.
- Experience working with individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities is a plus! we will teach
Language Skills
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Effective interpersonal communication techniques.
- Follow written and verbal directions.
- Effectively be able to present information and respond to questions from supervisor, case managers, clients and the general public.
Requirements:
- Valid California driver's license, proof of liability insurance.
- Fingerprint clearance
- Adult CPR with AED and Basic First Aid.
- TB test within twelve (12) months of hire.
- Position requires pre-placement physical.
