Heritage Hill State Historical Park is a 56-acre living history site in Green Bay, Wisconsin featuring over 25 buildings from the 17th – 20th centuries. This mission of HHSHP is to enrich the lives of others by sharing Northeast Wisconsin’s diverse cultural and historic ties that bind our communities together. This is achieved through the use of traditional museum exhibits and historical interpreters engaged in period appropriate pastimes.
Position Description
The Visitor Services Manager oversees the Heritage Hill welcome desk, ticketing, retail shop, and café. This position will report to the Executive Director and should be an individual who is motivated, self-sufficient, and interested in joining a small, hard- working team that is re-envisioning HHSHP’s interpretative approach.
Primary Duties
· Responsible for the daily staffing of the Heritage Hill welcome desk (Tuesday – Saturday during our open season and Monday – Friday during the winter)
· Knowledge of or ability to learn Altru and Square ticketing systems to complete visitor transactions, compile and maintain monthly attendance statistics, and identify visitor trends.
· Experience with money handling and cash/credit transactions
· Superior customer service while working with visitors in person, on the phone and via email.
· Oversees the gift shop to include purchasing, pricing, and display.
· Develops and manages E-Commerce business.
· Oversees the café to include purchasing, pricing, display, and the maintenance of health standards.
· Assists in the hiring, training, and support of seasonal, part-time Visitor Services staff.
· Serves as the point of contact for park office management concerns such as tech support, office supplies, etc.
· Ability to work with and within a small team in a rapidly changing environment.
· Other duties as assigned.
Salary
$38,000 annually. This is an exempt salary staff position that includes employee health insurance, 401K contribution, paid time off, and other benefits.
Projected start date is April 2024.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, management, or other relevant field or three (3) years of experience combining key elements of this position such as customer service, retail, management, etc.
