Description:
- Utilize communication skills to gain agreement from members to participate in the Research Program; persistently forge trusting relationships and engage individuals not readily familiar with the research.
- Support participants in completing informed consent procedures and questionnaires on an iPad/mobile device.
- Conduct the physical measurements component of the interview (including height, weight, hip and waist circumference, and automated blood pressure) and biospecimen collection and processing.
- Work with clinical and research staff regarding participant engagement and recruitment operations.
- Follow the IRB protocol as outlined by the study.
- Monitor project developments on an ongoing basis.
- Enter data related to physical measures and biospecimen samples.
- Maintain detailed records of results and prepare written protocols.
- Use the telephone and follow scripts to reach out to current and potential participants; this requires good oral communication skills to convey the research's importance.
- Work with clinical and community liaisons on the research.
- Responsible for other research clinic-related duties such as preparing for the participant visits, setting up and cleaning the exam rooms, entering data, and performing data and equipment quality control checks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in social science or a related field required
Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and collaboratively work with diverse populations
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of basic research concepts, practices and procedures
Ability to review and adhere to research protocols with great attention to detail
Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations
