The Theatre Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2024. We seek candidates to teach global performance history and theory, directing, contemporary acting styles, and related courses in performance theory, history, and practice. The teaching load for this position is five courses. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience and interest in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address ways in which you raise issues of diversity and inclusion in your teaching, scholarship/practice, and/or service, and the ways in which this enhances the educational experiences of students.
The goal of the Hamilton College Theatre Department is to teach students to think and express themselves creatively while at the same time learning discipline, time management, and solid group-building and leadership skills. Ph.D. preferred; ABD applicants or those with an MFA will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate active creative and/or scholarly research interests and activities, with previous teaching experience preferred.
The expected salary range for this position is $74,400 to $76,900.
