Job Description:
Trinity University seeks applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) in the Department of Earth and Environmental Geosciences. The VAP will teach introductory courses such as Earth's Environmental Systems and/or Oceanography that serve both intended Earth and Environmental Geosciences and Environmental Studies majors and students taking the course to satisfy a Pathways (general-education) requirement. In addition, the VAP may teach core courses such as Solid Earth Processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will:
• Teach a total of nine contact hours per semester (the equivalent of 6 courses per academic year) to support the curricular needs of the department and the Pathways general education curriculum.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Evidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level; and
• Demonstrated commitment to Trinity's value of intentional inclusion.
APPOINTMENT DETAILS
This position will be a two-semester appointment beginning in August 1, 2024, and will be
non-renewable.
EDUCATION
Required:
An earned Doctorate in the geosciences by August 1, 2024
ATTENDANCE
Maintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements is an essential function of this position. All employees in this job classification are required to satisfy this requirement. This job classification may not include "light duty" work or allow unpredictable or unrestricted absences. On-site attendance required.
