1. Instructional Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Utilize appropriate teaching strategies, technologies, and accommodations to facilitate student learning.
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans, ensuring that goals and objectives are addressed in the virtual setting.
2. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Use data to inform instructional decisions and modify teaching approaches as needed.
- Regularly monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
3. Individualized Support and Differentiation:
- Provide individualized support and instruction to students with special needs, including one-on-one sessions as necessary.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests.
- Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and parents to develop effective strategies for supporting students' unique needs.
4. Behavior Management and Social Skills Development:
- Implement positive behavior support strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
- Teach social skills, self-regulation techniques, and conflict-resolution strategies.
- Collaborate with school counselors and behavior specialists to address challenging behaviors effectively.
5. Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain regular communication with students, parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with general Education Teachers, Special Education staff, and related service providers to ensure coordinated support for students.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, parent conferences, and other collaborative meetings as needed.
6. Professional Development and Growth:
- Stay informed about best practices, research, and trends in Special Education and online learning.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Reflect on teaching practices and seek feedback to improve instructional effectiveness continuously.
7. Technology Integration:
- Proficiently use educational technology platforms, virtual learning tools, and assistive technology devices to deliver instruction and support student learning.
- Provide technical support to students and families to ensure access to online resources and materials.
8. Compliance and Documentation:
- Adhere to state and federal Special Education laws, regulations, and policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and services provided.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality guidelines when handling student records and sensitive information.
