We are currently seeking a senior professional to lead the firm’s strategic initiatives within the Hampton Roads Virginia market. This position will play a vital role in expanding our presence in the region, hiring, and mentoring staff, and helping guide the overall direction of our growth and expansion as well as supporting growth throughout the company. The successful candidate must be energetic and have the ability to mentor and lead teams throughout WRA’s market areas. In addition, they must have a demonstrated ability to pursue and manage transportation projects within the Hampton Roads region including VDOT as well as municipalities, counties, and regional planning organizations.

Leadership responsibilities include operating with integrity and sound business principles, providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing the transportation practice in Virginia. Requirements:

The successful applicant must possess the following:

• A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in the A&E industry leading multi-disciplined teams
• B.S. in Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering
• Track record of developing and growing markets and cultivating outstanding internal and external relationships
• Ability to manage and mentor staff of all levels, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
• Excellent communication and business development skills including writing proposals, scopes of work, scheduling, and budgets for projected work
• Demonstrated experience leading transportation contracts in Hampton Roads Region of Virginia
• Alternative Project Delivery experience a plus
• Virginia PE preferred
• Excellent reputation as a transportation professional
• Strong knowledge of VDOT Policies and Procedures
• Positive attitude and willingness to work with others
