PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
In the service of our mission, Fort Ticonderoga is seeking a talented and creative individual to join our team as a Videographer-Editor. Working collaboratively with Fort Ticonderoga’s senior leadership team, the Videographer-Editor will creatively convey sweeping narratives, staggering natural beauty, our unparalleled museum collections, and innovative educational programs through video. With a blend of technical expertise, and passion for storytelling through video, this position will serve Fort Ticonderoga’s diverse audiences creating video content for students, scholars, & lifelong learners, on a variety of platforms from social media to on-demand subscriptions. The Videographer-Editor will create photo and video content, broadcasting the on-going importance of our national 250th, the specific story of the Northern Department, and create excitement about Fort Ticonderoga’s unique REAL TIME REVOLUTIONtm programming during the 250th period and beyond. They will conduct interviews, film panoramic historic landscapes, and capture objects and skills from the past, with their significance today. This work will promote, capture, and amplify in-person events for national and global audiences. Working closely with the Vice President of Public History, the Videographer-Editor will serve Fort Ticonderoga’s mission building awareness of historic events, peoples, and places that make the Revolutionary period foundational in North America today.
QUALIFACATIONS
Minimum of 2 years industry experience freelance or an in-house position.
Proven experience as a videographer and video editor.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
Proficiency in basic graphic design across Adobe CC including Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Experience in lifestyle and studio photography.
Experience in audio recording and sound design.
Proficiency with Social Media video content management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY
Strong understanding of videography, storyboarding, and storytelling principles.
Creative mindset with the ability to bring innovative ideas to the table.
Knowledge of various camera equipment and the ability to operate them effectively.
Ability to film & execute scripts as agreed upon with content team including principal photography, interviews, b-roll, etc.
Ability to edit footage, sweeten sound, animate graphics, & deliver final master to upon agreed deadline.
Ability to manage film project management, logistics, & scheduling.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Outstanding professional demeanor, energy level, and work ethic.
Initiative is required and the candidate must work independently as well as be an effective team member.
High standards of accuracy and commitment to excellence are expected.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
