What You'll Do:
Ohio Department of Public Safety - Director's Office (Communications)
Report In Location:1970 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43223
Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
(CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE) Will report into office 3 days a week and telework 2 days a week (May be subject to change)
Under general supervision, will direct, plan, develop & produce audio & video projects for Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) Divisions/Sections and other State Agencies as assigned (e.g., drivers' education films; public awareness videos for broadcast; employee education videos; documentation of departmental meetings &/or events; etc.) Researches projects, writes scripts & operates all aspects of production (e.g., scheduling; studio preparation; lighting; direction; digital sound recording; digital video recording; audio editing & editing video projects on non-linear editing systems (i.e., Adobe Premier Pro) using related peripheral programs as needed (i.e., Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, other video editing programs within Adobe Creative Cloud).
Transcode video programs to various distribution formats (i.e., mov, wmv, flv, aiff, wav, mp4); Maintains computer, electronic and general production equipment for ongoing studio operations (e.g., hardware/software updates; system reconfiguration; resolving computer &/or hardware compatibility issues; etc.); Performs tests to ensure equipment meets necessary standards (e.g., researches, makes recommendations & writes specifications for new equipment acquisitions; researches on-going developments & trends in video communications & equipment; etc.); Perform other duties as assigned in support of the ODPS Communications unit or the Department's A/V Production requirements.

Completion of undergraduate core program in communications with emphasis on electronic media, video production, cinematography or visual communication.
-Or completion of associate core program in graphic communication technology or multimedia production technology; 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in operation &/or maintenance of video production equipment (e.g., frame synchronizer; video switcher; digital video effects generator; video distribution amplifier; media 100 system; graphics/character generator computer; edit controller computer; stereo audio mixing console; digital audio/video/graphics work station).
-Or 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in operation &/or maintenance of video production equipment (e.g., frame synchronizer; video switcher; digital video effects generator; video distribution amplifier; graphics/character generator computer; edit controller computer; stereo audio mixing console; digital audio/video/graphics work station).
-Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
