Videographer/Editor

Modo Media, a boutique digital media and advertising agency, seeks an ambitious videographer and video editor. At Modo we create TV commercials, social media videos, mini documentaries, and livestream experiences.

We are looking for a videographer and editor to join our small but mighty team of creatives. Our ideal candidate has a strong creative presence, a flexible schedule, storytelling abilities, and enjoys presenting a complete and polished product on a deadline. Candidates with experience using interchangeable lens cameras, Final Cut Pro, and graphic design software are preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Record video and audio using professional equipment
• Post-production video editing
• Set up and tear down of equipment
• Maintain equipment
• Manage footage, storage media, and files

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, degree in related field preferred
• Knowledge of video editing software
• Ability to work independently or on a team
• Flexible schedule, but most work done during typical work day
• Light to moderate physical activity, including carrying equipment and traversing a variety of terrain

THINGS TO KNOW

Pay Structure:

Will consider hourly or salary compensation, depending on preference and experience of candidate. Will also consider independent contractor/freelancer arrangements.

Pay Scale:

Starting at $20/hr or $40,000/year, negotiable based on experience, opportunities for growth.

Schedule:

A number of shoots and events are after 5 PM, with some weekend work. Most shoots are during a typical 9-5 workday. Most shoots are an hour in duration, with editing later. Several shoots are recurring weekly or monthly. Editing can occur when convenient for candidate as long as deadlines are met and schedule works well with the full team.

Equipment:

Camera equipment provided, primarily in the Sony and Blackmagic ecosystems. MacBook Pro and software provided for editing.

Location:

Most filming takes place in the Lima, Ohio region. Occasional “out of town” shoots occur with advance notice. Open to work-from-home editing, but obviously need to be in-person for filming.
