Video Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary:

We’re hiring for a Video Backend Software Engineer at Kiswe. The target annual salary range applicable to this role in the US is $95,105 - $118,811. This role ideally will sitin our US Headquarters at our offices in New Providence, New Jersey, or in our Belgian Headquarters at our offices in Hasselt, but we are open to remote candidates in the US who meet or exceed our qualifications.

Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer to join our team to contribute to building out our video platform. Your main focus will be the development and deployment of cloud based systems for processing and distributing real-time video. This work demands comprehension of video development applications and frameworks such as GStreamer and FFmpeg, and requires close collaboration with multiple partners including our Application teams, Product, UX researchers, and other Engineering teams. There is an immense amount of opportunity for research, innovation, and creative thinking. Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance real-time video platform infrastructure
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services
• Research innovative ways to anticipate and address client and internal stakeholder needs
• Collaborate with others in multiple different business functions to hit required deadlines

Required Qualifications:

Desirable Qualifications:

• +2 years working with WebRTC or similar video conferencing frameworks
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers
• Experience delivering live video streams using servers such as Wowza, Nimble or Haivision
• Prior experience with content distribution using HLS / DASH, DRM (Widevine, Fairplay, PlayReady, DRM Servers), and CDN’s
• Experience with video capabilities such as captioning (SRT / WebVTT / TTML) and dynamic advertising (DAI)
• Any open source contributions are a plus
• BA, BS, or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technology field
• A demonstrated history of design skills and problem solving abilities
