The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Victim Advocate.
Victim Advocate will provide direct services to crime victims and witnesses, as a member of the Juvenile Docket Team and Child Advocacy Team. This position is an unclassified, grant-funded employee of the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office with full-time assignment to the Victim/Witness Division.
This is a full-time position. Regular business hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Duties for this position include participation in evening/weekend/holiday on-call rotation.

Starting annual salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000. Actual salary offered depends on the experience level, qualifications, and skill set of the applicant.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in social sciences, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in an advocacy-related position.
- Knowledge of criminal justice system, victims’ rights, and crisis intervention strategies.
- Well-developed critical thinking/problem solving skills, highly organized, self-motivated.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, and able to effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Valid Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license and reliable transportation.
- Reliable phone service.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide comprehensive assistance, support, accompaniment, resource referral, and court advocacy services to victims and witnesses of crime.
- Facilitate notification to victims regarding rights and responsibilities as outlined in the Ohio Constitution and ORC Chapter 2930.
- Disseminate information and assist clients make application for VINE notification and Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program.
- Support crime victims during the investigative process with law enforcement.
- Attend forensic interviews of children referred for services to the Child Advocacy Center.
- Participate on court advocacy team, following established protocol.
- Participate in evening/weekend/holiday on call rotation for crisis intervention services.
- Assist law enforcement/Coroner making compassionate death notification to survivors of homicide and traumatic death.
- Adherence to established ethical, confidentiality, and behavioral standards of conduct.
