CRIME VICTIM SERVICES

ON CALL SURVIVOR ADVOCATE

LOCATION: AllenCounty

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Auxilary

The On-Call Survivor Advocate is responsible for responding to survivors of sexual violence by providing crisis counseling, advocacy, support, and referrals. This assistance includes traveling to hospitals/health facilities and police departments in Allen, Auglaize and Hardin Counties as well as telephone crisis intervention to sexual violence and domestic violence survivors from anywhere.

Education/Licensure Requirements:

Licensed Social Worker preferred but not required

Responsibilities:

1) Respond within one hour to hospital or law enforcement department to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and other victim assistance.

2) Follow all protocol and CVS procedures established for safety, culturally appropriate assistance, coordination with volunteers, specific needs of victim, etc.

3) Protect victim confidentiality.

4) Maintain accurate records on clients that are passed on to a permanent advocate.

5) Provide ongoing evaluation and quality assessment feedback.

The On-Call Survivor Advocate is an auxiliary employee of Crime Victim Services. The On-Call Survivor Advocate must have a valid drivers’ license and a personal vehicle. The On-Call Survivor Advocate provides all follow-up information to the Day One Department at Crime Victim Services.

The On-Call Survivor Advocate receives $20.00 per hour for response hours in addition to a daily stipend. The On-Call Survivor Advocate will be paid bi weekly.
