Vice President, Construction Management
Parsons is one of the world's largest infrastructure planning, engineering, and construction firms. The Opportunity:
Parsons is seeking a Vice President of Construction Management to lead our dynamic and growing construction business in the NY/NJ area. This role will provide strategic direction, guidance, and high-level management and serve in the capacity of Executive Officer for one of the largest construction projects in the country. This VP will also Liaison with the Parsons Executive Leadership Team communicate and relay progress and health of the project.
The successful candidate can be based in New York or New Jersey.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Technical Knowledge with:
- Heavy Civil Construction
- Tunneling
- General project management (cost management, schedule management, risk management, Construction Management)
- You are the "Go-to" resource for the Program Leader.
- Keep Program Leadership informed on all issues and anticipate critical issues and decisions.
- Serves as the "air traffic controller" for the program.
- Help Senior personnel focus on making solid decisions on the most critical elements for the team and organization.
- Assist in identifying and sourcing staff for the program.
- Know the organizational processes people use to communicate, receive approval, and accomplish goals.
- Triage information and distribute to all responsible parties (up and down the chain of responsibility).
- Ability to synthesize the information to know what is important and what is not. Know what you need to act on now.
- Establish systems that keep the team organized.
- Quickly develop a rapport with colleagues. know who to go to and get things done.
- Demand structure, establish processes, and creates efficiencies.
- Integrate and implement all guidance from Senior personnel.
- Will often be thrust into ambiguous situations.
- Retain and grow the team, estimating capability and construction project control system that allows us to pre-qualify, win and effectively manage projects.
- Assist in identifying and sourcing project technical and support staff to support the client's delivery of Packages on the project.
- Build leverage to better negotiate teaming arrangements with other world-class contractors so that Parsons gets full consideration as managing partner in joint ventures.
- Maintain a self-perform capability that allows us to effectively challenge excessive subcontractor quotes and/or to buy-out work that improves profitability.
- Lead business and strategic planning in conjunction with the Market Segment Leadership.
- Develop strategies and business plans that create profit opportunities for the Market Segments.
- Lead within the company's corporate risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate, and manage operational and financial risks at the task, project, market and group level.
- Assess present and future needs, trends, and challenges; determine resources required to meet group objectives; direct efforts to acquire and retain necessary resources.
- Lead in the development of marketing strategies and in the preparation and review of major proposals and lump sum bids for EPC projects.
Preferred Education/Experience:
- 20+ years of broad and diversified experience with a strong reputation across North America for heavy civil and related construction. Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field.
- Experience with P&L management.
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
- Experience with pricing strategy and negotiation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risk areas and risk mitigation across different contract types and market spaces, with extensive knowledge of risk identification and mitigation strategies
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and conduct focused briefings to all levels of management.
- Demonstrate an overall high level of competency in strategic thinking, talent development, inspiring and influencing others, collaboration, situational agility, global / industry awareness, and sound judgment.
- Name recognition and client relationships in the construction community.

Salary Range:
$175,100.00 - $334,800.00
This position is eligible for incentive compensation.
