As a leader in the U.S., providing home warranty and home repair services, operating under the brands American Water Resources, Pivotal Home Solutions and American Home Solutions. Position Summary
Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, the VP, Strategic Partnerships leads the Strategic Partnership Group and is charged with the strategy and operations for our Oncourse Home Solutions partner relationships. This person will be directly responsible for our top accounts while providing direction and counsel on how their department manages the day-to-day operations with partner contacts.
This individual will determine the strategic vision and an innovative approach to attaining partner goals and driving revenue and customer growth.
Must be able to travel ~ 30% of the time while reporting to our headquarters in Naperville, IL, to engage and partner with internal teams.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Architect and manage strategies to strengthen and optimize the relationships with our strategic partners.
  • Manage the services and support offered to our broad range of partner segments - Energy Utilities, Municipalities and Water Utilities.
  • General Manager oriented leadership responsible for driving growth of the $100MM+ Partner P&L
  • Drive partner lifetime value by developing key value drivers of each partnership that drive the highest benefit both internally and to our partners; deploying programs to help drive business value, Partner goal achievement, new products, and services; collaborating across teams to identify and pursue Partner growth
  • Ensure the Strategic Partnership team establishes a solid foundation of successful, long-term partnerships during new partner onboarding.
  • Lead efforts in negotiating partnership agreement renewals with terms that support the overall Oncourse Home Solutions business objectives
  • Implement tracking and standardization of partners’ objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) reporting
  • Report key metrics to the executive team, company, and board with materiality and action plans for any improvement opportunities
  • Manage partner profitability trends and identify, and action on, areas for improvement
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact partnerships.
  • Represent the voice of the partner and influence internal stakeholders by promoting a partner-centric mindset across the organization
  • Partner across the organization on initiatives that will improve our value proposition to utilities including new products, new channels and digital integration activities.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, product development, and other teams to integrate partnership initiatives into overall business strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with our new business development teams to engage with leaders at prospective partners and existing partners to define goals and leverage our products and services to achieve them

Experience and Qualifications of the Role
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in a Client Success/Strategic Partnerships role within an agency or consultancy or organization where the candidate led the B2B outreach activities.
  • 8 + years of direct people management experience with a track record of consistently recognizing and rewarding excellent performance and addressing performance issues head-on, without delay.
  • Strong General Management orientation to business. Able to understand growth opportunities and build actionable plans to execute those.
  • Deep understanding of value drivers in recurring revenue business models
  • Prior experience in a utility company or industry, a very strong plus
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset with the skills to be a data-driven decision-maker
  • Proven track record of quickly scaling partners while enabling both Partner and company success.
  • Knows how to serve as the primary point to partners while owning all touchpoint reporting – weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews that keep all stakeholders proactively informed
  • Knows how to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – lots of horsepower
  • Ability to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building
  • Ability to communicate well with individuals, teams, partners, and at industry-level events
  • Understanding of the balance between internal teams and external partners and how to use both effectively to support and grow partner members quickly
  • Effective and productive collaborator to drive cross-functional initiatives
