JOB SUMMARY:
The VP Sales & Marketing (VPSM) is responsible for the profitable growth of STC by implementing a commercial strategy focused on value selling of advanced materials. This will include leading the commercial team to find, qualify and covert opportunities, and the coordination of key projects that support new and existing product development and refinement in conjunction with the Operations, Engineering, Finance, and HR.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Build an industry leading world class sales organization focused on value selling.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan with near term and long-term growth goals.
  • Direct and coordinate staffing, budgets, and timelines to achieve goals.
  • Manage department projects to ensure that the strategic goal is being fulfilled and the quality standards and metrics are maintained.
  • Develop with section managers clear and manageable goals and expectations which will include establishing and maintaining accountability at all levels of the team.
  • Implement continuous improvement best practices including Sales Force advancement.
  • Implement and maintain a development program for employee growth, which will include maintaining the evaluation process.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or Technical Management (manufacturing/materials experience preferable)
  • Minimum of 20 years of business and/or sales and/or engineering experience.
  • Sales strategy and commercial acumen are essential.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Self-motivated, driven for excellence, with the ability to exercise sound judgment, coupled with creativity to resolve problems.
  • Strong, clean, and effective written and verbal communications.
  • Microsoft office: Project, PowerPoint/Excel/Word/Outlook

Ability to manage multiple team members located at both sites as well as remote. Travel is required both domestic and international. Candidate to reside in New England.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from reading detailed materials and computer screen. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods and changing priorities may cause increased stress levels. Work may include occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying objects weighing of approximately 40 pounds such as files, documents, and some equipment. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboards at a moderate skill level. Repetitive motion injuries may occur. Company will provide adaptive devices as needed.
