Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We place a strategic emphasis on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular access, bone access, specialty biologic treatments and cardiac assist. Our current Interventional products include a broad range of clinically relevant solutions, such as our GuideLiner and Turnpike Catheters, AC3 Optimus Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and OnControl Powered Bone Access System. With a strong R&D footprint and pipeline, our fast-growing Interventional business unit is poised to continue the development of new technologies to serve critically ill patients for years to come. Position Summary

As the Vice President of Product Development, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of our Product Development process. Your primary objective will be to drive innovation, ensure the successful development of new technologies, and contribute to our overall business growth. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of upstream marketers, engineers, designers, and researchers, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, completion, excellence, and grit.

Principal Responsibilities

    Leadership and Strategy:
o    Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Product Development team to achieve business objectives.
o    Collaborate with executive management to define the Product Development roadmap and align it with the company's overall vision.
o    Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform Product Development strategy.
    Product Development:
o    Manage the end-to-end Product Development process, from concept ideation to commercialization, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
o    Lead the design and development of innovative interventional cardiology technologies, considering usability, functionality, safety, and manufacturability.
o    Foster a culture of innovation and creativity, encouraging team members to explore and implement novel approaches in Product Development.
    Strategic Marketing Ownership:
o    Establish strong KOL relationships to ensure robust understanding of unmet customer unmet needs to establish differentiated value propositions, deeper customer segmentation, and buying criteria and needs.
o    Implement proper portfolio management discipline, including globalization of portfolio, lifecycle management, and operational initiatives to improve cost, quality, product efficiencies and profitability while ensuring adequate VOC.
    Team Management:
o    Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing Product Development team, providing mentorship and guidance to enhance their skills and expertise.
o    Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
o    Set clear goals and expectations for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
    Cross-Functional Collaboration
o    Collaborate closely with other departments, including Global Supply Chain (including Operations), Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Design and Quality Assurance, and Clinical/ Medical Affairs, to ensure alignment of Product Development plans with overall business objectives.
o    Engage with key opinion leaders, physicians, and customers to gain insights and feedback for product enhancements and future development.
    Quality and Regulatory Compliance
o    Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, such as FDA regulations, ISO requirements, and industry guidelines.
o    Implement rigorous quality control processes and conduct regular risk assessments to maintain the highest standards of product safety and efficacy.

Education / Experience Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree in Marketing preferred).
    Proven track record of successful Product Development and commercialization in the medical device industry, preferably in interventional cardiology technologies.
    Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role, managing multidisciplinary teams.
    In-depth knowledge of medical device regulations and quality standards (FDA, ISO, etc.).
    Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and implement best practices in Product Development.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
    Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
    Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
