The Position: As the Vice President of Software (Innovation), you will be the champion and architect of cutting-edge software solutions, leading the charge in identifying, developing, and implementing groundbreaking technologies that will propel RPM towards the future. You will be a visionary leader, a strategic thinker, and a passionate advocate for innovation, fostering a culture of creativity and experimentation within the Software Support Team as well as partnered technology and development vendors.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy and Innovation Develop and articulate a comprehensive software innovation strategy: Aligned with the overall RPM business goals, you will define the vision and roadmap for software initiatives to include identifying the business impact and benefits, prioritizing initiatives, and ensuring internal and external resources are managed effectively. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies: Remain at the forefront of the software industry, identifying trends, analyzing potential technologies, and recommending adoption to solve business challenges and create new opportunities. Promote a culture of innovation: Cultivate an environment that encourages experimentation, risk-taking, and out-of-the-box thinking, celebrating successes and learning from failures.
Property Management Technology Initiatives Closely partner with existing Software Support Directors to ensure seamless and supported solutions. Oversee the project management, development, testing, and deployment of new property management software products. Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements and specifications. Spearhead the development of innovative software solutions. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping to production and maintenance, ensuring high-quality results that meet business needs and exceed expectations. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, executives, and external partners to ensure alignment and buy-in for innovative initiatives. Manage and optimize internal and external resources. Oversee the budget for new initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the performance, quality, and user feedback of various property management software products.
Research, Pilot, Documentation Prioritize research for AI, RPA, and ML alignment for property management processes. Maintain current documentation and intuitive references for all RPM Teams of existing RPM solutions. Identify industry and industry applicable solutions for all property operations business functions. Document current vendors and solutions to include benchmarking the features, product differentiators, and pricing of available solutions. Design and conduct pilot projects to test the feasibility, usability, and value of potential new software products. Partner with RPM PMO Team and stakeholders as needed. Provide pilot results, benefits, costs, implementation considerations to RPM stakeholders to determine viability of implementing the solution(s).
QualificationsA four-year college degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field At least seven years of experience in enterprise level software platforms used in the Real Estate industry. Proven track record of successfully leading and driving innovative software projects. Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills Ability to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans. Passionate about building high-performing solutions and fostering a culture of innovation.
