The Vice President of Sales Position
The VP of Sales position is responsible fordeveloping and implementing strategies to grow revenue and improve profitability through sales processes, training, coaching and management.This position will lead a team of account managers and account executives, ensuring onboarding and continuous development, to allow the East Region to meet or exceed budget, new business objectives, and all sales goals.
The VP of Sales will lead and coach the sales team, manage budgets and forecasts, and develop key accounts. They will execute sales programs, collaborate with marketing for lead generation, and work with the Inside Sales Team. The role includes attending trade events, motivating and developing the team, and utilizing CRM for project management. The VP of Sales must have a deep understanding Of Sales techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to manage contracts and custom projects. They will use data and KPIs to execute sales plans, collaborate with executives, and present to the Board of Directors.
Please note: While this role is remote, we do require that this individual is located in the eastern half of the US (EST/CST time zones). This position will also require regular travel for trade shows, customer meetings, sales training, and occasional in-person company meetings/events.
Desired Experience, Skill, and Abilities for the Vice President of Sales
- Bachelors degree in marketing, Finance or Business Management is preferred
- Experience in distribution sales and/or rigid packaging is preferred
- Minimum 10 years sales and management experience; at least 5 years of leading a sales team
- Proven experience in building sales and profitability
- Must have experience working with a P&L, as well as marketing, customer service, inside sales, IT and supply chain teams
- Social media and technical skills experience is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM is required
