Develop the operations strategy for a multi-site food processor committed to delivering quality products while maintaining operational excellence.
The Vice President of Operations will serve on the senior executive leadership team and is responsible for optimizing the productivity and efficiency of the organization's processing operations. This includes setting and achieving strategic objectives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, meeting scheduled product attainments per shift, and effectively managing processing costs, overhead, and energy costs. Additionally, the role involves building and developing high-performing teams while fostering positive employee relations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all operations activities of multiple food and beverage processing plants.
- Manage and mentor a team across Operations, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Maintenance.
- Coach and mentor four direct reports, including a Director of Operations, Director of Continuous Improvement, Director of Engineering, and Director of Maintenance.
- Maximize productivity and efficiency by establishing and accomplishing strategic objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and Lean practices.
- Ensure achievement of scheduled product attainments per shift and control processing costs.
- Build and develop high-performing teams while maintaining good employee relations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business preferred.
- Minimum seven years of food or beverage manufacturing management experience.
- Proven track record of change management and cross-functional leadership in Continuous Improvement and Lean practices.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively.
