Job description

The Vice President of Americas Cardiovascular (CV) Sales is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans that promote sales growth and customer satisfaction on a regional scale for the company’s medical device portfolio. This role involves leading the Americas’ CV sales team, creating sales strategies, and establishing relationships with key stakeholders in the medical device industry to achieve sales and profitability targets while expanding market presence. The role is part of the Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT) Executive Committee and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining key relationships with cross-functional partners across the Bracco organization.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and executes BMT’s sales strategies and objectives. Ensures cross-functional alignment across BMT and Bracco.
  • Establishes and governs the sales organizations’ performance management system. This includes establishing guiding sales organizational principles for managing performance, establishing and prioritizing critical performance measures for all sales jobs; overseeing the equitable allocation of organization objectives across all sales channels, markets, and personnel; and ensuring all key sales and sales management associates are held accountable for assigned results.
  • Establish benchmarks and KPIs and drive enterprise-wide transformation to improve operational efficiency and create a culture of individual and team performance.
  • Enhance the capabilities and competence of the sales organization to include multifaceted focus including capital equipment and clinical procedure utilization impact.
  • Hire, mentor, develop and manage sales leaders and clinical leaders in order to effectively work through others to accomplish business goals.
  • Partner with the marketing function to set market strategies and goals for the business.
  • Partner to identify sales training programs and processes to optimize sales effectiveness.
  • Provide executive leadership to the sales organization’s management team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance, ethical behavior and collaboration across BMT and Bracco.
  • Drive business/account planning focused on ensuring execution of sales strategy to optimize profitability, market share and revenue growth.
  • Influence sales strategy and operative decisions through input based on a thorough understanding of the market.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Develop and leverage partnerships effectively with cross-functional teams; including Product Development, GCO, BDI, Quality, Operation, Service and Regulatory to achieve sustainable business results.
  • Monitor and control expenses based on budget requirements.
  • Monitor marketplace dynamics and partner with the CV marketing function to ensure BMT and Bracco success.
  • Drive systems implementation and adoption at BMT to secure integration and harmonization within the Bracco Group.
  • Collaborate with Operations to drive a transparent and data driven sales, inventory and ops planning (SIOP) process to ensure supply predictability and efficiency.  
  • Manage within BMT the process of Bracco Group policy adoption, local education and monitoring.

Required Skills

Minimum

  • Minimum of 15 years medical device commercialization experience with increased responsibility; may be in a variety of sales positions.
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in medical device industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a high performing team and achieve results through others.
  • Experience leveraging Key Opinion Leader relationships.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over a 3+ year time span.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Moderate computer skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc..
  • Experience in creating and maintaining comprehensive departmental budget
  • Building collaborative relationships across a global organization.
  • Strategic thinking.
  • Results orientation.

Preferred

  • Experience in executive-level role within a global organization.
  • Experience at a large established medical device company in a commercialization role.
  • Capital sales experience.
  • Cross-functional Integration and process empowerment.
  • Deep understanding of interventional cardiology and interventional radiology products and markets and their applications.

Other

  • Ability to travel internationally (periodically) and domestically (routinely). Travel requirements may exceed 50%.
