The VP, USB Learning and Development will serve as the primary liaison with the business to identify learning needs and lead the sourcing/development of learning solutions, in partnership with the enterprise L&D function. The position will be dual reporting to the Head of USB HR and the VP, Head of Learning and Development and will lead an embedded team that will operate as a learning consulting practice deployed to understand business and customer needs and proactively provide learning solutions in support of talent strategies.

Through this role, we'll address local learning needs while optimizing learning to deliver on the most critical business commitments. With accountability to both the learning function and the business, this role will consult to understand learning needs, influence and build alignment through strong relationships, and build deep business knowledge in areas of focus. This leader will also oversee the USB rotational development program and local sales training.

T he current Employee Work Arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires on-site presence in one of our main office locations (Newark, NJ (preferred), CT. or PA). Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

  • As a USB HR leadership team member, you will contribute to the strategic priorities for talent and development supporting business growth.
  • Establish and execute a forward-looking learning and development strategy across the US businesses to drive our vision and strategy.
  • Understand skill gaps and identify learning needs within each USB business; prioritize and manage the demand and capacity of learning resources to drive the highest levels of business impact.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the effective and efficient planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of relevant and engaging training content that encompass a range of learning modalities, including in-person, virtual, and e-learning experiences, aligned to critical organizational capabilities and business priorities.
  • Be a thought leader, driving innovation in learning delivery to address skill gaps (including in sales, customer experience, and leadership).
  • Apply a thorough understanding of adult learning theory to deliver learner-centered programs, activities, and assessments that cater to the unique needs and preferences of the US businesses.
  • Develop and support a team of learning and development professionals, setting clear expectations, providing leadership, and fostering a collaborative learning culture.
  • Create strong working relationships with peers and business leaders within the US businesses and across Learning and Development, HRBPs, HR CoEs, HR Operations, and Inclusive Solutions.
  • Support change efforts across the enterprise, while demonstrating commitment to continuous learning and development and fostering a learning environment across the organization.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college / university or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years in training and development with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and leading successful learning and development strategies and programs.
  • In-depth understanding of current learning theories and their application to training design; experience in design thinking and leading areas such as curriculum development, instructional design, planning, facilitation, learning policy, and implementing efficient learning solutions.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills to address training challenges and adapt strategies required; maintains connection with external marketplace and learning industry leaders; uses analytical approach to then assess learning programs and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and leading high performing teams and a solid understanding of how-to development for a diverse employee base.
  • Inclusive leader that embraces a creative, innovative approach to developing employees with a strong understanding of how-to development for a diverse employee base.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the strategic business needs of the company that learning can support including needs of customers and the broader marketplace.

The salary range for this role is from $175,500.00 to $237,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
