At Way Finders, we are passionately invested in lifting up the region’s people, places, and systems.
Though our team performs a wide variety of functions, we are united by our shared mission: to build and advocate for a thriving and equitable region; to improve the stability and economic mobility of families and individuals; and to develop and manage a robust range of safe, affordable housing options.
Every day, our team helps people facing real challenges—with housing, jobs, personal finances, and other cornerstones of daily stability—to find real solutions. And we help communities and systems to grow in positive, strategic ways. We know that the right help at the right time can make all the difference; Way Finders provides transformative help to tens of thousands of people each year. Always with respect, always with compassion.
Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals? Way Finders is currently seeking a full-time Vice President, Housing Education Services (VP HES). The VP HES supports our mission through the continued development and implementation of policies, procedures, and contract compliance for all departmental programs; and by providing fiscal oversight, and ensuring program compliance, quality assurance, and participant satisfaction; plus the supervision, training, and development of personnel.
The candidate may work in a hybrid-remote capacity but must live within commutable distance. Onsite work and meetings are required.
Responsibilities include:

  • In collaboration with SVP, ensure implementation and updating of program-specific training protocols and materials
  • Establish, schedule, and maintain cross-trainings to ensure staff competency and proficiency

  • Act as a data champion, working with the Business Intelligence and I.T. departments to develop and manage software tools, reporting functions, and to identify process gaps to create efficiencies and foster program growth; provide key data to team, leadership, and Board
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, information sharing, and open communication through regular program/team meetings, consistent feedback, administrative tools, and clear goal-setting
  • In collaboration with the SVP and HES Leadership, ensure that accurate and timely budgets are prepared, reviewed, approved, and implemented as directed
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with staff (including across departments), funding sources, constituents, and stakeholders
  • Participate in community meetings as a representative of the organization; disseminate information and resources as appropriate
  • Contribute to the planning, design, and development of new department initiatives
  • Proactively identify and inform SVP of any significant issues that may adversely affect the organization
  • Remain current with funding source regulations, affordable rental housing trends, resident rights, reasonable accommodations, and other relevant housing topics
Supervisory responsibilities include:
  • Evaluate and provide timely feedback to staff on performance-related matters; assess staff members’ strengths and developmental needs; implement performance plans to ensure the development and/or maintenance of necessary skills
  • Set effective and achievable training plans for new staff members; evaluate and make process improvements based on feedback
  • Hire new/replacement staff in an efficient and equitable manner, following recruiting process guidelines
  • Provide proper support and mentoring to supervisory-level employees to ensure they take ownership of their own hiring needs
  • Those directly and indirectly supervised will include program directors and managers, program staff, interns, and vendors/contractors
