Salary: $300,000 - $400,000 per year
We create new small molecule drugs to combat cancer and autoimmune diseases. Job Details:
We are seeking a Head of Medicinal Chemistry to join our dynamic team in the scientific industry. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery and development of novel drugs that could change patients' lives. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry, managing scientists and leading programs up to IND-enabling studies.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive drug discovery projects from concept to IND filing.
2. Lead and manage a team of scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
3. Provide strategic direction and technical leadership in all aspects of Medicinal and synthetic chemistry.
4. Evaluate and implement new technologies and strategies to enhance drug discovery efforts.
5. Communicate effectively with both internal teams and external collaborators, presenting data and strategies at team meetings and scientific conferences
Qualifications:
1. PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, synthetic chemistry, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 12+ years of experience in Medicinal Chemistry within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
3. Proven track record of leading drug discovery projects from concept to clinical trials.
4. Demonstrated experience in the design and synthesis of novel organic compounds.
5. Comprehensive understanding of the drug discovery process, including IND and NDA filing.
6. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team of scientists.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
9. Demonstrated experience in working with multi-disciplinary teams.
10. Small molecule and oncology experience is required.
11. Strong leadership and experience managing teams, from entry scientist to director level
