GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Vice President of Franchise Operations (VPF) is a key member of the Operations team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The role will provide oversight to Franchise Operations and will be responsible for the coordination, planning, and execution of all new store openings, ensuring operations, schedules and budgets are followed to meet the needs of the organization. This individual will collaborate with the appropriate contacts in the Playa Bowls organization structure and maintain positive working relationships with all Franchisees. This role will also supervise our Operational Consultants and/or NSO (New Store Opening) Managers driving results and fulfilling our mission and core values, focusing on training, motivation, team development, profitability, business metrics, compliance, and guest satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with marketing to meet franchisees’ marketing objectives, boosting visibility and customer conversion.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), achieve standardized organizational goals, and cultivate year-over-year growth-oriented outcomes.
  • Lead and develop team of Operations Consultants and NSO Managers to ensure operating policies are consistent with Playa Bowls goals, ensuring excellence across Franchisees.
  • Drive compliance standards in shops and hold franchisees accountable for delivering on it
  • Accountable for the NSO opening process and deliver goals around NSO
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans, maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders to assist them with accomplishing their goals, and negotiate win-win solutions
  • Responsible for the planning, coordination, oversight, and direction of operational goals for all new store openings and consulting with Franchise partners
  • Ensure franchisee renewals and transfers are in compliance
  • Coach team to capitalize on franchisees’ opportunities for improvement according to operational metrics and encourage team to communicate roadblocks.
  • Conduct weekly team calls to ensure effective communication of initiatives and procedures are consistent to franchisee community.
  • Conduct performance reviews and set annual goals with each Operational Consultant to aid in their development.
  • Collaborate with R&D and training departments to communicate operational initiatives and procedures to franchise community.
  • Coach team and document conversations and action planning.
  • Work with others to develop tools/systems to support the franchisee shops.
  • Use resources strategically by planning schedules and budgets according to priorities and follow up with franchisees on agreed upon action plans and meeting milestones
  • Identify potential conflicts with franchisees and conduct difficult conversations in an informed and educated manner offering ways to improve
  • Serve as a confidant for all franchisees staying true to Playa Bowls core values, standards, and expectations in the face on conflict.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Travel Required

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BEHAVIORS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field.
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Fran Connect (Franchise Management Software), and Microsoft Office for collaboration and communication
  • 10+ years of direct experience in a field operations-oriented role with a QSR or fast casual brand opening 100+ locations annually.
  • Direct experience within branded franchising highly preferred
  • Thorough understanding of inventory, P&L, and operations management
  • Superior communication skills with an emphasis on building partnerships, outstanding leadership and mentoring approach and ability to remain flexible in an ever-changing business landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
  • Must strive for excellence and have only the highest integrity in their intentions
  • Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions and work well under pressure,
  • Exceptional ability to navigate complex situations and settle disputes equitably.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision or guidance.
