Umpqua Health is actively seeking a visionary and dynamic Vice President of Engagement and Experience to join our leadership team and play a crucial role in guiding our organization to success in the healthcare industry. This strategic leadership position involves being at the forefront of developing and implementing innovative member, provider, and business engagement strategies integral to our growth, compliance, and collaborative efforts. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting groundbreaking engagement strategies, driving organizational growth, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering collaborative relationships with all stakeholders. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping the direction of Umpqua Health, positioning it as a pioneer in the healthcare sector. This role is not just about leading but revolutionizing how we connect and collaborate within the healthcare ecosystem, thus making a significant impact on the communities we serve.


Your Impact:

  • Strategic Leadership and Vision: Develop a visionary strategy for Engagement and Experience that integrates seamlessly with our organizational ethos and long-term objectives. You will need to anticipate market trends, identify potential growth areas, and devise strategies to enhance our market position.
  • Comprehensive Engagement Framework: Craft and implement an engagement model that touches every aspect of our interactions with providers, members, and business partners. Your goal will be to create a cohesive, satisfying, and loyalty-inducing experience for all stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Take the lead in driving healthcare transformation through the establishment of strategic partnerships and the introduction of groundbreaking, value-oriented initiatives. You will be expected to be a thought leader, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to our business model.
  • Interdepartmental Integration: Promote a unified approach across departments, fostering a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, and shared objectives. You will play a critical role in breaking down silos and ensuring that our teams work cohesively towards common goals.
  • Performance Metrics and Quality Standards: Establish and monitor key performance indicators for provider engagement, setting ambitious yet attainable benchmarks for quality and efficiency in care delivery.
  • Network Development and Management: Build and maintain a robust, high-performing provider network, ensuring it aligns with our strategic goals and provides comprehensive, accessible services to our members.
  • Executive Leadership and Influence: Act as a key member of the executive team, participating in high-level decision-making and strategy sessions. Your insights and recommendations will be pivotal in shaping the future direction of Umpqua Health.
  • Educational and Technological Empowerment: Design and implement educational initiatives and technological enhancements aimed at enriching the provider experience and elevating their ability to deliver exceptional care.

Your Credentials:

  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Law, Healthcare, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: At least 10 years of leadership experience in the healthcare sector, with a proven track record in provider/customer relations, service excellence, and engagement strategies.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams, managing complex projects, and driving organizational change.
  • Healthcare Industry Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
  • Networking and Relationship Building: Strong existing relationships within the healthcare industry, including with providers, policymakers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Innovative and Strategic Thinking: Exceptional ability to think creatively and strategically, turning challenges into opportunities and insights into actionable strategies.
  • Project Management Expertise: Skilled in managing large-scale projects, balancing multiple priorities, and delivering results within tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and Decision-Making Abilities: Strong analytical skills with a talent for making data-driven decisions.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with current healthcare technologies and digital platforms and how they can be leveraged to enhance Engagement and Experiences.
  • Multilingual Proficiency: The ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages would be highly advantageous.
