Vice President, Compliance Officer

About the Role: We are seeking a seasoned compliance professional with extensive experience with Medicare Advantage, Medicare Prescription Drug Plan and Medicare Supplement Insurance regulations and statutes to lead our Medicare Compliance Program.  The right candidate will have experience supporting a digital, consumer-facing Medicare brokerage solution.  You'll collaborate extensively across all areas of the business, reporting directly to our Chief Executive Officer.

What you will be doing

• Manage Compliance Department, including all compliance policies and procedures, in collaboration with company leadership.
• Maintain and oversee the distribution of compliance and other training modules with regulatory related content.
• Maintain and oversee the implementation of the OIG/GSA exclusion check process.
• Act as a strategic, solution-oriented thought partner regarding company initiatives.
• Review Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plan marketing materials to confirm compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with business owners on solutions.
  • Submit materials to Insurance Carriers for review and track progress.
  • File materials with CMS and State DOIs as applicable
• Identify and evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies including internal auditing and monitoring activities.
• Respond to external audit requests.
  • Gather evidence and track deliverables.
  • Submit evidence to auditing entity and respond to audit inquiries.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of any corrective actions resulting from external audits.
• Identify, document, investigate and resolve compliance concerns and complaints.
• Chair the Medicare Compliance Committee, organize and execute regular Committee meetings and provide regular reporting on compliance program outcomes.

Your experience

• You are an experienced, independent Compliance leader with deep domain expertise in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Prescription Drug Plan requirements and regulations.
• Experience with managing or supporting Medicare marketing compliance program for digital, consumer-facing solution.  (Healthpilot is NOT a telephonic broker!)

About you

• You possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-versed in Federal and State Medicare laws, regulations, and statutes
• Able to read, interpret and thoughtfully explain regulatory information in layman’s terms.
• You have experience identifying, analyzing, assessing, and mitigating compliance and business risks.
• Able to understand business objectives, quickly identify the applicable governing regulations and creatively propose solutions to meet both.
• Extensive experience with Medicare Marketing regulations, reviewing communications and marketing materials, navigating the insurance carrier review processes and submitting materials in HPMS in time to meet company face-paced implementation objectives.
• Experience with reviewing Medicare Supplement materials for compliance with all applicable state laws, navigating insurance carrier review processes and filing as applicable with State Department of Insurances. 
• Highly analytical and data-driven

• Fluent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
