Your Role:

The Vice President, Capital Markets & Treasury (CMT) position reports to the Chief Capital Officer and contributes to the Company’s success by ensuring an efficient funding structure to support the business. Working in partnership with Blackstone, the CMT Vice President will be responsible for leading people and activities across 3 verticals within the Capital Markets team: corporate liquidity, warehouse funding, and JV partnerships/investor relations.

What will you be doing?

• Oversee 3 verticals across the Company’s Capital Markets & treasury function
  1. Corporate liquidity
     • Review and sign off on 18-month liquidity model distributed to Blackstone, including upcoming equity contributions, distributions, management fees, and other potential capital inflows/outflows across HPA and its JVs
     • Understanding and evaluating property operations and cash flows
     • Act as lead liaison for treasury banking relationships
     • Provide oversight of daily cash position reporting
     • Ad hoc reports, such as scenario analysis
  2. Warehouse funding
     • Develop relationships with existing and prospective bank lenders
     • Provide critical support to Chief Capital Officer, Blackstone Capital Markets and Legal to negotiate and execute loan agreements/amendments and originate new facilities
     • Analyze and stress test property portfolios that secure various warehouse loans; monitor key covenants
     • Review and sign off on monthly borrower reporting, collateral releases, and funding tapes
     • Manage and execute interest rate hedging strategy
     • Evaluate value-add refinancing strategies in partnership with CMT’s term financing group

1. Joint venture partnerships; investor relations
   • Supervise preparation and distribution of regular reporting to investors including but not limited to: quarterly governance committee presentations, monthly property tapes, underwritten cash flow, call rates, anticipated IRRs
   • Assist in creation and development of new reporting requests from JV investors
   • Manage amendment drafting, approval, and execution process with JV investors and warehouse lenders
   • Interface and build relationships with JV investors
   • Ensure organization and maintenance of internal filing systems
   • Respond to investor inquiries on our external reporting, as well as adhoc requests on overall trends and key metrics
   • Manage internal processing of data requests from investors
2. Manage, train and mentor a team of 4 individuals
3. Direct the building and refining of models needed within CMT
4. Responsible for oversight of analytical workstreams
5. Provide Excel modeling training to junior team members on an ongoing basis
6. Act as Capital Markets partner to FP&A team

Qualifications:

• 7+ years experience; securitized finance or real estate debt Capital Markets experience a plus.
• Must hold a bachelor's degree.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite; extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Incredibly motivated.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and has effective time management skills.
• Able to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
• Good judgment, perseverance and stamina.
• Strong work ethic with ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
