Job Description
Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic is the only Fear Free Certified Practice in Summerville, SC. We truly believe in treating our patients well and doing everything we can to make their visits more pleasant! We also have a wonderful team of smart, talented and compassionate individuals. They work hard, but always have fun while at work! Dr. Katie Hill is the owner of Cane Bay Veterinary Clinic and has been practicing for 10 years. She still loves practicing but is also very passionate about making sure her team has work-life balance. We strive to leave on time every night so we can get home to our families. Everyone on the team works 4 days per week, with no weekend hours and no on-call. We see 30-minute appointments and average 2-4 surgeries plus a few appointments and drop-offs on surgery days. We are still a locally and family-owned practice and intend to stay that way for the foreseeable future. The practice opened in early 2019 and is thriving due to the rapid growth in the surrounding communities. We have all the fun tools, from dental radiographs to therapy laser to hand-held ultrasound. The staff will tell you their favorite things about the clinic are each other, the people and pets we serve every day, and the vast and varied knowledge of our team. We are a pretty awesome group and if you want to be a part of the fun (we work hard, too), please apply below. We also encourage you to browse our online reputation on Google and Facebook
We are located just outside of Summerville, SC. It is one of the fastest-growing areas in the country. We have many new restaurants and retail businesses within minutes of the clinic. Join Summerville’s only Fear Free Certified Practice where veterinary medicine is still fun and rewarding and professional growth and development is a must!
What You Will Do:- We are looking for someone to grow with our practice. Not only will you provide care to patients and education to clients while assisting veterinarians, but you will also be able to contribute thoughts and ideas to support the clinic’s business strategy.
- We believe that technicians are what keep the practice moving day to day. We value technicians and the many and varied skills they contribute to make the clinic successful. We want to support you and help you grow these skills.
- You will have the opportunity to develop your professional interests with in-clinic mentorship and collaboration among doctors and teammates, as well as the opportunity to pursue continuing education.
- We are seeking a licensed veterinary technician or veterinary assistant with clinical experience. The ideal candidate is skilled in managing clinical appointments; assisting veterinarians with various procedures; venipuncture, catheter placement, and assisting with surgery; performing dental cleanings, dental radiographs and monitoring anesthesia.
- It is important to have the technical skills to perform this job, but equally important to have the right attitude for the job. We are looking for someone who is team-oriented; compassionate towards patients, clients, and their fellow team members; energetic, positive and has a good sense of humor. Having a desire to teach and learn is also important.
- The individual who fills this role is expected to exhibit a positive, can-do attitude. This person should be ethical and accountable for their own actions and willing to contribute to the clinic by helping those around them learn and grow.
We have the flexibility to consider a variety of options including part-time or full-time hours for the ideal veterinary technician/assistant. We offer an array of benefits including vision and dental insurance; IRA with match, paid time off and paid holidays; pet discount and stipend for medical expenses; and a uniform allowance. Additionally, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees. We encourage continuing education opportunities and will provide reimbursement for CE after the first year of employment.
