Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic, locally owned and operated in Eagle River, Alaska, is currently accepting applications for Veterinary Technicians.
We are looking for highly motivated, team-oriented, professional, and compassionate individuals who value exceptional client service in addition to the highest quality patient care. This is a fast-paced job and the successful candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task. The ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor and deliver consistent, first-class client service, regardless of circumstances, is critical.
A qualified candidate for this position should be adept at phlebotomy, low/no stress and safe handling of animals, (experience handling exotic species is a plus, but not a requirement), performing and monitoring anesthesia, drug-calculations, dental prophylaxis, urine and fecal analysis, and hospitalized patient care. Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task are essential. We believe in high-quality medicine practiced in a positive work environment. Mentoring is a team effort at our hospital
Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Refined interpersonal and telephone communication skills
- A high level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Office)
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, confidence and an overall great attitude
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours
- The ability to lift at least 40lbs and be on your feet most of the shift
Priority will be given to applicants with previous experience in a veterinary hospital. Knowledge of IDEXX Cornerstone software is a plus.
