Palo Verde Pet Clinic is looking for a Client Care Representative/Kennel Attendant to join our team! Palo Verde Pet Clinic is a small animal veterinary practice; staffed and focused on surgery, preventative care, comprehensive diagnostics, and superior dental care. We feel prevention is the best medicine! Our goal is to work with pet owners to develop the best wellness plan for their companion animal, thus positively impacting the length and quality of their pet’s life and limiting lifetime cost of care.
Position Overview: As a Client Care Representative/Kennel Attendant, you will play an important role in the day-to-day operations with Palo Verde Pet Clinic. By adding value to an efficient organization dedicated to quality care and extraordinary service, you will perform a variety of clerical and customer service tasks in providing support to the hospital. We are looking for a friendly, team-oriented person, with excellent customer service skills!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet clients in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner
- Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls accordingly
- Schedule and confirm appointments
- Check patients in the hospital according to the schedule and prepare patient files
- Record and obtain medical records
- Obtain deposits and other payments from clients
- Utilize email systems
- Safely and effectively handle and restrain animals to complete treatment tasks
- Ensure that cages and animals are properly identified and that personal property (toys, blankets, leashes) are stored and labeled in respectable areas
- Clean, disinfect and maintain kennels, cages, and runs as often as is necessary to ensure cleanliness and sanitation
- Complete upkeep tasks like cleaning food and water bowls, and maintaining laundry
Qualifications and Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience performing above duties
- Experience with Cornerstone is preferred but not required
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures, terminology, and products
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to empathize and connect with clients
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records
- Confidence with animal behavior and proper animal restraint methods
- Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors
Available Schedule: Full-time position, must be open to work Saturdays
- We are open: M-F 8am-5pm
- Will be extending hours to Saturdays starting June 1
