Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets. Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanor
- Schedule appointments and manage the veterinary clinic's calendar
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and address client inquiries
- Collect and update patient information, including medical history and insurance details
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various procedures as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
- Process payments and handle financial transactions accurately
- Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and post-treatment instructions
- Coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques and restraint methods
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medical procedures
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including data entry and appointment scheduling software
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Skills:
- Pet care: Knowledge of proper pet care practices, including feeding, grooming, and exercise routines.
- Animal catheterization: Ability to assist with catheter placement for medical procedures.
- Medical collection: Experience in collecting samples for laboratory testing or diagnostic purposes.
- Animal handling: Proficient in safely handling animals during examinations or treatments.
- Equine: Familiarity with equine care practices and handling techniques.
- Animal restraint: Skilled in restraining animals during procedures or examinations.
- Laboratory: Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and sample processing.
- Dog training: Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavior management.
- Veterinary terminology: Familiarity with common veterinary terms and medical terminology.
- Animal care: Understanding of general animal care practices, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
