Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist DVMs during examinations, vaccinations and treatments
- Confidently perform venipuncture to obtain blood samples
- Collect other lab specimen, such as samples for ear cytology, intestinal parasite screening or skin cytology.
- Run labarotory test in-house and package outside lab samples
- Confidently place IV catheters
- Observe animal behavior or health condition and report to the DVM
- some administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and keeping accurate records and logs in patient records
- Prioritizing appointments based on urgency
- Communicate doctor recommendations on nutrition and healthcare to pet owners
- Collect patient history and anticipate DVM needs with appointments
- Prep and assist with surgery
- Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms, and treatment area
Requirements:
- Minimum one year Veterinary Assistant experienced
- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to accurately follow instructions and protocols
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (e.g., lift up to 40 lbs., stand for long periods)
- Available every other Saturday and occasional holiday rounds
